For majority of our projects, you can join us for any amount of time from 2 weeks to 3 months. However, some of our projects have minimum time restrictions to allow volunteers to adjust themselves as well as to have sustainable development.
Most of our volunteers are recommended to schedule a trip of 4-12 weeks for optimal success of their program. We offer you a rich opportunity to interact with people and enrich yourself from the project experiences as well as let embrace the beauty of our scenic land.

CAWAAL believes that you are best suited for our programs:
- If you have always dreamt of Africa and felt the “call” in your heart learn and appreciate the diversity of African cultures and play your role in developing people towards sustainability.
- If you want to change your “rhythm of life” in a unique way that will transform your character, unlock your potential and broaden your perspective about life.
- If you desire to explore you world and learn more about your career and possibly give it a boost.
- If you want to appreciate the value added by development projects into the socioeconomic life of various communities in Africa.
Qualifications
You are not required to have any formal requirements for you to participate in our volunteer programs. Unless the program you have applied for requires a professional volunteer, CAWAAL programs are open for all who have a passion to serve communities to grow into greater heights. However when placing the volunteer we will consider Program choice as per details in the application form.
Basic requirements that you need to fulfill to be able to secure your place in our volunteer program:
- You must be willing to help, be open-minded and ready to adjust to Africa cultures and way of life.
- You must have attained a minimum age of 18 years on application. There is no upper limit of those willing to volunteer in our programs. Applicants below the age of 18 years may only be considered by the volunteer organization if they travel with a guardian. However, a minimum age of 16 years applies to all our volunteer programs unless if traveling as a family.
- You must be in good health to travel.
- You must have no criminal record whatsoever.
- You must be able to meet all the costs for the volunteer program and their own travel.
